Following its sell-out success last year the Natural Theatre Company recreates a 1950's style cinema complete with decrepit staff, stale popcorn and obligatory 'b' movie. If you can get past old Sprocket, the commissionaire, you'll be shown to your seat by flirty usherette, Honey Wagon (runner up of “Miss Hot Dog” 1958 ). Once in your seat you can relax while Ernie Glissendo runs his hands over his mighty Organ and encourages you to sing along to his bouncing balls. So come and enjoy a night at a 1950's cinema. Wear your best 1950's outfits, (prizes for the best dressed!). Sample 3D and Smellovision! Sample the usherettes! But no snogging in the back row!! |

Is it wicked to submit to extreme desires & emotions, or is it more destructive to try and keep a lid on them? The truth will out in this dark and playful drama inspired by 'Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde'. Watch in wonder as the strange case of The Bad One unfolds into a cautionary fairytale of unrequited life... In a psychiatric hospital, an enigmatic patient claims to be the son of an African dictator - a story that becomes unnervingly plausible. This is an incendiary tale of race, madness and power at the heart of a dying NHS. Plain Clothes produce contemporary writing from across the globe. The company's last production Laura Wade's “Breathing Corpses” won Venue's “Play Of The Year” 2007. “Constantly unexpected, gripping, lifelike and not a cliché in site. Brilliant” - (Steve Wright, Venue Magazine on Breathing Corpses) |

Five years since Playing Up burst onto the scene with Waiting For Godot, this highly talented company presents another of the greatest plays of the twentieth century. George and Martha play out a series of devastating mind games during one booze fuelled night. Their guests, Honey and Nick, are drawn unwillingly into one of the funniest, cruellest and imaginative wars of words. A justifiable sell out... Playing Up's production was faultless - Bath Chronicle review of Journey's End 2008 |

The door closes. The key turns. Pietr sits on the edge of his bed. He's here for the long haul. But no one has told him about The Uninvited, who has come to share his cell... Jon Welch's bold new play delves into exciting dramatic territory. A blisteringly toxic comedy that echoes Pinter and Beckett, this macabre puzzle is by turns surreally comic, disturbing and moving. |

The Fire Starter is a gloriously irreverent romp through the extraordinary life of a nineteenth century Welsh Arch Druid and Doctor, the cremation crazy William Price. A Pagan, Price played his flute, naked, on the hills, had children out of wedlock, and shocked the Victorians by bucking the burial trend and cremating his dead relatives. This hilarious comedy features over 25 characters including a sheep, a parrot, a spectacularly incompetent vicar, rampant twins and the lovesick Smelly Gwennie, all performed by three stunningly versatile actors. “Fast-fired multiple character changes with layer upon layer of jokes from very skilled performers” - Venue |

A pairing of One Act comic delights, not to be missed... Black Comedy. It's 1965 and Brindsley has one shot at making it big and getting the girl. No problem. Until the lights go out. Heavy. It's 1823 and Gabriel, (Guardian of the British Weights & Measures), faces the combined evils of a drunken Master, Hot-Shot Graduate, and the dreaded metric system... worse still, his beloved weights aren't behaving themselves... Astonishingly good new writing from Jon Thrower. |
