Tue 3rd June to Wed 4th June at 8:00pm |

Nikolai Gogol's tragicomic masterpiece about a lovelorn, petty Russian bureaucrat and his descent into madness, directed by former Rondo frontman Andy Burden. A wild, hilarious and poignant rollercoaster ride through 19th century St. Petersburg. “Completely believable, in an unravelling hour monologue the actor turns himself inside out for us, just as his overcoat is turned from its sensible sane side to its more madly flamboyant 'regal' inside.” “Moments of hilarious wit and touching poignancy.” - Theatre World. “A physicality of performance that was genuinely harrowing.” - Extraextra.org |

| Daniel Defoe | ||||

Thu 5th June to Fri 6th June at 8:00pm |

With large helpings of modern mayhem, a generous sprinkling of satire and serious amounts of cross-dressing, Brute Farce present a rambunctious rabble of prostitutes and pickpockets, prisoners, perverts and peers. Armed with a simple set and a few props (along with serious amounts of cross-dressing) they bring Daniel Defoe's England garishly to life. While maintaining period language and atmosphere that will please the purists, this is a pared down, breathlessly physical production that is shot through with a contemporary soundtrack and a knowingly anachronistic tone. Eighteenth century England is ingeniously re-invented in this wickedly outrageous adaptation. Exceptionally entertaining stuff! “Caricatures are luridly well observed ... Fast-paced and boisterously silly, this show defies expectations and never lapses into a dull moment.” The Stage on ‘King Ubu.’ |

Cougar Glass, a thirty year old narcissistic predator with a rapacious need to be young, afraid of aging, celebrates his nineteenth birthday year after year in a hope of staying young forever. From the award winning writer of The Krays, The Pitchfork Disney and Krindlekrax, this agonisingly funny yet tragically dark black comedy focuses on personal rituals and has hints of Peter Pan and a modern day Dorian Gray. Originally premiered at the Hampstead Theatre, London in 1992 starring Jude Law, to critical acclaim and box office success. Contains some language & scenes of an adult nature which some people may find disturbing! “Admirable, astonishingly cool, drawing attention to improbability while at the same time - against all the odds - preserving a sense of reality.” - The Observer |

Cementing O Neill s reputation as one of the most original and inventive comics around, Winston Churchill Was Jack the Ripper is based around the hypothesis that Britain s Most Notorious Serial Killer was also Britain's Greatest Prime Minister . This theory obviously appears to be ludicrous, however through the cunning use of archive photos, well rehearsed accents and funny hats, Andrew O Neill explains his thought process and will certainly plant a seed of doubt in your mind A committed anarchist, strict vegan and relaxed transvestite, Andrew O Neill is at the forefront of the emerging breed of comedians shying away from the norm . “Andrew O'Neill isn't your usual stand-up comedian. Yes, he tells jokes. Yes, he makes you laugh. But he does it all with an innate sense of absurdism and silliness, and proudly displays one of the most inventive comic minds around today.” - Comedy CV. |
