Mark Thomas. Comic, Activist and occasionally changer of laws, is back. 2007 saw him take on Gordon Brown and the laws on demonstrating around Parliament. In 2008 he took on Coca Cola in his book ‘Belching out the Devil’.
2009?
At time of going press Mark had no firm idea of what his new show would be about. But you know the score. He will go off and have some adventures and get into trouble, but live and come back to tell us the tale. His philosophy is best summed up when the following happened outside the Houses of Parliament:
Police Officer: “If you are a comedian why are you trying to take torture equipment into the House of Commons?” Mark: “If you want to do observational comedy you should put yourself in a place worth observing”.
***** “Moving and inspiring…as gripping as any live performance you will see.”
THE GUARDIAN
“… a brilliant investigative journalist disguised as a comedian…very funny indeed’.

Inspired by Madame Butterfly and set in a futuristic landscape Pathway to the Red Sun draws influences from Japanese ghost stories, myth and legend and Guillermo Del Toro's Pan’s Labyrinth.
Rogue Theatre tells the story of a samurai’s daughter who falls in love with a hero. In a world where birds have forgotten how to fly, where honey is a precious commodity and people train to fight off salesmen.
With poetry and text by Anna Maria Murphy (BBC Radio 4, National Theatre, Kneehigh, Wonder Show), original live music, humour, acrobatics and a highly visual style; Rogue Theatre mixes circus spectacle, the passion of opera and the tension of Japanese horror to create a vivid and dream like production – a love story at the end of the world.

The Strawbs have enjoyed major success on both sides of the Atlantic. In the early 1970s, as well as several hit albums, their singles “Part of the Union” and “Lay Down” topped the charts. From the mid-Seventies, they spent more time in the States and Canada, where their albums charted for five years as they toured with Santana, The Eagles, Peter Frampton, Blue Oyster Cult, King Crimson and Frank Zappa.
Acoustic Strawbs play classic Strawbs songs with the integrity and musicianship for which the band has always been recognised.

Follow the events of an evening in a Northern pub through the eyes of the beleaguered landlord and lady. This witty and thought provoking play features 14 diverse characters (all played by two actors) some endearing, some to be wary of, others just intriguing and all of which you will recognise as people you know, met or have seen in your local.
A remarkable blend of outright humour and a bleak sadness – a journey through life and its loves and losses
Recommended in 'The Times' by Benedict Nightingale as one of the Top 5 Theatre productions to see nationwide.

Adapted for the stage and performed by Shane Morgan, Nick Hornby's NippleJesus is the story of a man, the Messiah and thousands of nipples. Taken from the short story of the same name, Dave, an ex-nightclub bouncer, takes a job as a security guard in a modern art gallery and becomes a pawn in a game set up between artist and the public.
