Will Hodgkinson presents the first of two nights based on his experiences exploring the music and folklore of Britain, and introduces some of the artists he met on the way. King Creosote represents a town bursting at the seams with talented singer songwriters. He champions local talent while enjoying the profile associated with being signed to Domino – the same label as Franz Ferdinand.
 

Stephanie Hladowski talent for song-writing and utterly enchanting voice are gifts that are as natural as breathing. Stephanie writes timeless songs and her raw, emotional music is destined for a wider public.

Will continues his journey in The Ballad of Britain and highlights some of our quaint, primal and downright bizarre folk traditions. The six strong Bathampton Morris Men fill the intimacy of the Rondo with the physicality of this dance to nature.
 
Sam Lee has performed at many of the major UK festivals. An apprentice to the great folk musicologist Stanley Robertson – who is passing on his vast legacy of Scottish ballads – he also travels in the footsteps of Peter Kennedy, collecting songs from the English Romany Gypsies and many other communities.
