A story that is truly aimed at all members of the family, “Hell and High Water” is fast moving, gag-filled romp through the lives of these 18th century heroines. Anne Bonny and Mary Read find love and adventure on ships bound for the Caribbean but back at home King George is determined to stop the piracy plaguing his rule one way or another - will the monstrous regiment of two escape the long drop from a short rope?
The Blue Chicken was formed in 2001 and has been performing epic tales using the very latest in trailing edge technology ever since. It is the brain-child of Designer/Maker Russell Dean and Performer Bethan Tomlinson. Russell's work includes masks made for Channel 4, ITV, Trestle Theatre Company and the enormous Maggie Thatcher puppet in the West End musical Billy Elliot. Bethan is a storyteller and workshop leader who also directs the special events at Hampton Court Palace. Their combined experience produces a style which has been described as “Blackadder meets The League of Gentlemen” and always uses masks, puppets and audience participation.
