Trestle is back without its trademark masks but with sumptuous storytelling theatre, vibrant visuals, and powerful physical action. Influenced by South Indian traditions, Trestle reworks the classical story of Shakuntala for a modern age.

Two people meet and quickly fall in love. One leaves and forgets, while the other is left holding their child, posing the question: if we forget what is important, how can we love what really matters?

Tickets: £8.5, Concs£7 Professional

A rich mix of eastern and western physical theatre, influenced by South Indian traditions of Kalaripayattu (martial art), Konokol (rhythmic patterns) and mudras (hand gestures). Trestle re-imagines the classical story of Shakuntala for a contemporary time; combining ancient arts with modern words, and inspirational music from India. There are no masks in this production.

Trestle has been touring unique theatrical productions across the UK and abroad for 26 years. Trestle makes work which dances with the spoken word, excites with questions and makes the live experience matter for audiences and participants of all ages.
