Retirement – peaceful, sun-kissed days pottering in the garden... not in the Nobbs household! When Connie’s husband, Albert Nobbs, retires from work, all hell breaks loose. He’s bored, he’s frustrated, his cholesterol’s sky-high, angina has kicked in and his wife’s nagging the hell out of him. However, Albert’s life is turned upside down with the sudden death of Connie. Connie’s constant nagging continues from beyond the grave as she re-appears and sets about matchmaking her forlorn Albert with her best friend Rose. A bitter sweet story of love and loneliness, hope and despair, as Albert now struggles to come to terms with the loss of the woman he loved and a possible new romance. A comedy by the award-winning playwright that brought us last season’s sell-out hit Like a Virgin. |
