Cougar Glass, a thirty year old narcissistic predator with a rapacious need to be young, afraid of aging, celebrates his nineteenth birthday year after year in a hope of staying young forever.

From the award winning writer of The Krays, The Pitchfork Disney and Krindlekrax, this agonisingly funny yet tragically dark black comedy focuses on personal rituals and has hints of Peter Pan and a modern day Dorian Gray.

Originally premiered at the Hampstead Theatre, London in 1992 starring Jude Law, to critical acclaim and box office success. Contains some language & scenes of an adult nature which some people may find disturbing!

“Admirable, astonishingly cool, drawing attention to improbability while at the same time - against all the odds - preserving a sense of reality.” - The Observer

Tickets: £8, Concs£6 Community

Cougar Glass, a thirty year old narcissistic predator, afraid of aging, celebrates his nineteenth birthday year after year in a hope of staying young forever. He prays on naïve young teens and lures them back to his grimy East End flat above an old fur factory, where he plies them with alcohol.

He lives with his partner, the precise (and bird obsessed) Captain Tock, who Cougar relies on to help him maintain his youth as he has no youth left to give himself.

Into the equation comes the naïve, emotionally confused Foxtrot Darling, a sixteen year old school boy, who has just lost his brother and sees Cougar as a replacement figure.

Cougar's nasty plan is working fine until the Captain refuses to leave and Sherbert Gravel, Foxtrot's brothers pregnant ex-girlfriend arrives with her own agenda.

The Fastest Clock in the Universe was hailed by The Observer as “admirable, astonishingly cool, drawing attention to improbability while at the same time - against all the odds - preserving a sense of reality.”

Narcissus are a brand new company, with a fresh voice. The Fastest Clock In The Universe will be their first production as a group, although individually the members of the group have a wealth of experience within different companies locally and further afield.
