Instead, Barry is urged to give a candid account of his life and views. The personality that emerges is the least of the surprises in the tense game power and manipulation that ensues. Dumb Show tackles two big questions in today's society. How far will people go to destroy a celebrity? And what is Privacy when the whole world knows who you are? Joe Penhall meets these questions head on in this explosive dark comedy. Written in 2004, Dumb Show won audiences and critics over when it debuted at the Royal Court in London.
