In a French Chateau in 1910 the amoral Hugo, identical twin to his brother Frederic is “scheming a scheme” that will change the lives of all concerned for ever. Brilliantly witty dialogue from Christopher Fry, great characters, gorgeous frocks and fireworks... this is an evening guaranteed to go with a bang! Originally starring Paul Scofield and Clair Bloom, the theme of this play is as relevant today as when it was first produced. |

Bath Drama is probably the oldest and is certainly one of the best and most successful drama groups in the city. We began in 1919 as the Bath Theatre Club. Today we have a friendly and active membership, and put on four shows a year, encompassing modern drama, pantomime, classics and outdoor productions. Bath Drama, however, is not just about these main productions. We offer semi-staged rehearsed readings through the year as well as theatre workshops and social events. All of these are at our permanent premises in The Hut, Vane Street, Bath. We have taken part in domestic and foreign tours as well as competing and winning prizes in one act play festivals. We also enter our shows in the Rose Bowl Drama Awards competition, and have secured many nominations and scooped awards. We welcome new members, whether experienced or new to drama. All we ask is that you are prepared to have fun and are willing to learn! NEXT EVENT: Tuesday 16 March - a reading of The Weir, an atmospheric and compelling drama by Conor McPherson. New members welcome!
