Set in a seedy Oklahoma City motel, Tracy Letts’ award winning play (adapted to film in 2006) refuses to sit within any one genre – thriller, love story, melodrama, horror, comedy – it’s all of them and more. Agnes tries to escape her bleak world through a mixture of drink and drugs, until Peter comes into her life – a chance for a new beginning…or the beginning of the end? Fast paced, darkly humoured and deeply disturbing. |

Tracy Letts’ award winning play, adapted into the movie in 2006 (directed by William Friedkin of ‘Exorcist’ fame), is a riveting, paranoia filled thriller. Fast paced, dark humoured and at times deeply disturbing. Set in the seedy confines of an Oklahoma City motel, the play refuses to sit within any one genre – thriller, love story, horror, comedy – it’s all of them and more. Agnes is the motel resident, escaping the bleak world she inhabits through a mixture of drink and drugs. A violent past, a lost child has left her empty and withdrawn, until Peter comes into her life – a chance for a new beginning…or the beginning of the end?
