Since exploding onto the scene in 2000, Gonzo Moose has become renowned for its accessible brand of comedy theatre, combining improvisation, music, physical theatre and clowning.
The company has entertained audiences all over the country from the sun and sea of Penzance to the cold and rain of the Shetland Islands. Gonzo Moose is one of the few national touring companies committed to a rural touring programme and the shows have been big hits with family audiences and teenagers.
The company was founded by Artistic Director Mark Conway (Improbable, Cal MacCrystal, Fluxx Theatre and Ken Campbell) and has always had a focus on visually exciting comedy and clowning, using a range of techniques to keep its work at the cutting edge of clowning and improvisational performance.
Gonzo Moose has enjoyed considerable success with its rural touring shows and has received critical acclaim for much of its work. The company has been working with rural touring schemes since 2003 and is highly experienced in the unique and special nature of rural touring.
Most recently the company’s critically acclaimed show ‘You Don’t Need to Know That’ which toured nationally in 2007 was a hit at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival receiving outstanding reviews as well as a Total Theatre Award nomination.
